The Point Lookout SLSC Junior Activities Program (Nippers) offers a unique program for children aged between 5 and 13 years and we welcome new members. Our program currently has just over 110 children actively involved and is run every Saturday from October to March.
The primary role of the Junior Activities Program is to:
Provide the best possible lifesaving experience with the overarching aim being to encourage long term active participation
Provide opportunities for JA members to participate in enjoyable lifesaving activities and competition in an aquatic environment by offering a wide range of activities
Ensure the juniors are safe on Australia’s beaches through the provision of beach safety education programs
Develop a team based philosophy encompassing leadership, camaraderie, teamwork and fun
Promote social, emotional and physical growth and development in a healthy and safe environment
Why Join Point Lookout SLSC Junior Activities?
The Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club forms a very important role within the local community both on North Stradbroke Island and in the Redlands City area. The Junior Activities Program provides the opportunity for many families to experience the benefits of being a part of a unique, not for profit, community based organisation.
Each week, mainland families meet at Cleveland to be transported to North Stradbroke Island for a day filled with fun activities. The unique location of the Club provides the opportunity for the program to be conducted at one of two beautiful beaches patrolled by our volunteer surf lifesavers, over a longer period of time making it a valuable and enjoyable lifesaving experience for everyone involved.
We supply equipment, teach vital lifesaving skills whilst making new friends, having great family fun and being part of an iconic Australian culture.
